In November 2004 Bill and Wendy Ainscow took an overdose of sleeping pills and waded into the warm Atlantic ocean off Tenerife to commit suicide. Wendy survived but tragically Bill died. The couple’s bizarre suicide pact was the culmination of years of trying but failing to get an accurate diagnosis for their adult daughter Lisa, who returned home after being de-sectioned under the mental health act. 

From director David Evans (Fever Pitch, Our Boy) and writer Gwyneth Hughes (Cherished, Five Days), this complex and moving story brought to life by two of the UK’s leading acting talents; Brenda Blethyn (Pride & Prejudice) as Wendy and Timothy Spall (The Last Hangman) as Bill. And introducing Rebekah Staton as Lisa.
