UNMASKING A KILLER

Unmasking A Killer profiles the terrifying real-life story of the Golden State Killer – a man responsible for a staggering 51 attacks and 12 murders in California. Investigators have searched for the sadistic criminal for 40 years and following a national campaign led by the Sacramento FBI and a $50,000 reward to identify the perpetrator, arrested a prime suspect - 72 year-old former police officer Joseph James DeAngelo - on 25 April 2018, who is now awaiting trial.  

The series takes an in-depth look at the manhunt, alongside patterns, escape methods and mind games of the killer and includes interviews with investigators, law enforcement and victims, who have never spoken out publicly sharing their experiences to help bring the man who successfully flew under the radar for decades to justice.

Joseph DeAngelo has been arrested and identified as the Golden State Killer. He has been charged with 12 homicides across 4 jurisdictions. A possible 13th murder charge in a 5^th jurisdiction is imminent.
