In the early hours of Sunday, November 13th 2022, a man crept into a house close to the Unversity of Idaho in the rural city of Moscow. Within minutes he had murdered Ethan Chapin, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Madison Mogen. The killings were brutal and callous. The victims were stabbed multiple times with a large knife with fatal wounds in the chest and upper body. On December 30th, 28 year-old Bryan Christopher Kohberger, was taken into custody charged with the murders. Using a public genealogy database, authorities had identified a partial DNA match to an individual with a familial connection to Kohberger. Investigators then traced the DNA to him by matching it to DNA found on the trash that was recovered from his family’s home in Pennsylvania.
Massacre in Moscow utilizes interviews from the people responsible for catching the notorious killer and those who knew the victims; creating a robust account of the crime that shocked the world and took social media by storm.
