THE TITAN DISASTER

In June 2023 the Titan submersible disappeared on a dive to the wreck of Titan instantly killing all five on board. It was a huge story triggering wild social media speculation.

This documentary tells the story of the Titan submersible disaster from the different perspectives of those most affected by the tragedy, and includes access to the US Coast Guard Marine Board of Investigation team.

Including unseen footage of its inventor, Stockton Rush, taking the submersible on its final successful dive to Titanic, and new material from one of his last TV interviews before he died in the implosion on Titan, the film gives a unique insight into Stockton Rush’s personality – his unwillingness to listen to the views of doubters, but also his ability to inspire those around him. Is Stockton a modern-day Icarus who flew too close to the Sun?
