CHURCHILL: BRITAIN'S SECRET APARTHEID aka SECRETS OF WWII: BLACK GIS IN BRITAIN

Following on from the Edinburgh TV Awards winning and Grierson/RTS nominated Secrets of the Human Zoos, Nadifa Mohamed will now uncover some of the most dramatic and untold stories to have happened on British shores during WWII.

In this emotional investigation, Nadifa will reveal that when Winston Churchill needed the help of the US Army to defeat Hitler, he made a controversial decision to allow America to bring its segregated Army to the UK.

The racial tension between the black and white American soldiers spilled out onto the streets of Britain, resulting in shoot-outs, riots and murders.

Whilst searching for people alive today directly impacted by the violence, Nadifa explores how the impact of this bloodshed and racism is still with us.
