On the 22nd of February 2022 a fully armed man wearing camouflage clothing and what seemed to be a bomb vest took control of the Apple Store in the heart of Amsterdam.
Threatening to blow up the building and everyone in it if his demands were not met a five hour drama evolved with one hostage held at gun point and four others hiding in a closet.
Documentary maker, Roos Gerritsen, creates an exhilarating story using security camera footage and never seen before footage of a bodycam worn by the hostage taker. This exclusive insight, combined with interviews of police officers, bomb squad team members and the victims, draws the viewer into the hostage situation as if you were there that night.
The reconstruction describes the event from multiple angles as police tactics, negotiation skills and strategic deliberations are displayed, victims reflect on the horrifying moments they experienced, and the actions of the hostage taker can be seen and heard from the bodycam he was wearing.
Minute by minute the situation gets grimmer as the police tries to wear out the hostage taker trying to find the right moment to intervene and end this explosive situation.
