GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

Defense attorney Betsy Tannenbaum (Golden Globe nominee Brooke Shields, Suddenly Susan) has landed a troubling new client in Martin Darius (Scott Glenn, Silence of the Lambs), a wealthy Oregon real estate developer being blackmailed by private eye Sam Oberhurst (Jon Polito, View from the Top). The shady PI knows that Martin’s latest adulterous tryst ended with the one-night stand mysteriously vanishing. In her wake remained a single black rose and a cryptic note reading “Gone but not forgotten.” The disappearance and the baffling calling card mirror a series of unsolved murders committed years earlier in New York, and Sam is sure he’s cornered the man responsible. Martin claims he’s being framed, leaving Betsy to wonder—if that’s true—then by whom? And why, if her client is innocent, did he pay Sam the hush money? Even more damning is Martin’s own wife who’s come forward with startling evidence that questions her husband’s innocence.

When Sam vanishes, too, and four mutilated bodies turn up in a makeshift grave on one of Martin’s construction sites, Betsy hires investigator Reggie Stewart (Joe Morton, Ali) to shed light on the dark corners of her client’s past. What lurks there is an ambitious Supreme Court nominee with a scandalous history of lies and deadly ambition; vengeful homicide detective Nancy Gordon (Golden Globe nominee Marilu Henner, Taxi) who has her own disturbing theories about the unsolved serial killings; magazine reporter Nora Sloane (Robin Riker, Days of Our Lives) whose strange and obsessive investigation invades Betsy’s private life like a nightmare; and Martin’s own complex web of secrets that holds the truth about a crime and sets in a motion a final game of cat and mouse, duplicity and revenge, and madness and murder.
