Between July 1963 and October 1965, Ian Brady along with his partner Myra Hindley, horrifically killed five children in the Greater Manchester area. It was a series of crimes that devastated families, changed a community, and shocked the world.
Framing events through Brady’s involvement and the evolution of his twisted desires, the series examines the impact of the murders and questions how they could have happened.
The three episodes examine Ian Brady’s upbringing, early ‘career’ and what led him to commit some of the most unspeakable acts the world has ever seen. It questions whether he was born ‘evil’ or was a product of his time and environment. Criminal psychologists say he was more than a psychopath, he was his own ’breed’ of psychopath.
