The legacy of the Kokoda campaign contributes an enormous amount to the DNA of current day Australia.
As thousands make the pilgrimage each year to retrace the steps of those who camebefore, they are reminded of a chapter in time where the bravery and sacrifice of a select few, enabled the prosperity and future of so many others.
Seventy-five years after the horrors of the Pacific War, archeologists and historians from Australia, Japan and Papua New Guinea come together at a lesser known site of the Kokoda campaign, the lost battlefield of Etoa. In the spirit of reconciliation and repatriation, these passionate individuals from once warring nations set out to find the remains of soldiers whose lives were lost in order to lay their souls to rest.
