DANGER DOGS

At a secluded location, hidden in the Welsh hills is one of the world’s top dog training academies.

But this is not a preparation ground for ‘best in show’ pooches. There are no prizes for pure breeds or good looks.

Here dogs that no one wants are given a second chance. Here dogs and trainees are tested and prepared for a life protecting society from drugs and explosives.

Head trainer Simon Mallin has served with dogs all over the world and now runs tough courses for dogs and trainee dog handlers to the highest international standards.

The series follows the dogs and their handlers through the highs and lows of their journey to see if they have what it takes to be Danger Dogs.

He teaches everything from drug detection to finding road side bombs in conflict zones.
