With no Premier League appearances, no international heroics and without a high-profile footballer lifestyle, Bayo commands more fame and respect than most of his peers. Constantly rejected as too big, to play professionally, he went on to break goal-scoring and English Football League records.

Bayo achieved the incredible landmark of an almost uninterrupted twenty-year playing career in professional football. In the process he racked up 696 games scoring 206 goals and is the oldest player to play and to score in the EFL Championship.
