DRIVING ME CRAZY

Filmmaker Nick Broomfield shows chaos on the set of European impresario Andre Heller's black musical ‘Body and Soul' as egos, budgets and general calamity conspire to ruin the best efforts of all involved.

Driving Me Crazy is the breakaway film that made Nick Broomfield’s name for his subsequent first-person style - a style now so popular, and copied by many others.

At the time of making it, Nick was so desperate to get a story that he inserts himself into the film to chronicle an out of control Broadway show, where everyone is fighting, egos are raging, and the film gets caught in the middle. It shows showbiz at its worst and most hilarious, with some truly brilliant performances.

“Several memorable characters emerge as Broomfield struggles to keep things in focus, his intrusive camera revealing artistic compromise, fragile egos, and a great deal of unintentional humour.” TIME OUT MAGAZINE
"Mr. Broomfield indeed managed to live through a nightmare and turn it into a documentary-maker's dream." THE NEW YORK TIMES
"Brings new meaning to the phrase: That's Entertainment." LONDON OBSERVER
"A hilarious exposé of showbiz." THE GUARDIAN
