On 29th April 2011, William and Catherine were married in a fairy tale wedding watched by more than two billion people and celebrated the whole world over...
No sooner had they returned from their honeymoon than the newlyweds were back in the spotlight. Their first duty as married royals was as big as it gets – a meeting at Buckingham Palace with the President of the United States, Barack Obama, and his wife Michelle.
From then on the the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a string of traditional ceremonies, but their first big test as a married couple was to come at the end of June, when they embarked on a tour of Canada followed by a star-studded trip to LA. The tour would see them fulfil a relentless schedule of meetings with heads of state, celebrities and the public.
